St. Joe’s Rivercamps Homeowners Weekend

April 27th, 2008

Last Saturday, April 19th 2008 we attended St. Joe’s Rivercamps homeowners weekend. It had been a long time since I had been to Rivercamps and I was pleasantly surprised by all of the amenities. Actually, I was completely blown away with how nice the community has progressed.

The Riverhouse and pool are nestled right on West Bay and Crooked Creek. The views were awe inspiring and I quickly realized how special of a place Rivercamps is.

Team Jeep/CJB Construction Reaffirms Reputation of Strength Rolling Into the 2008 Season

April 1st, 2008

Team Jeep enjoyed a very successful season opener last weekend at Rouge Roubaix.  13 members strong, Jeep rolled into the parking lot of the St. Francisville Inn ready to race.  Saturday afternoon all gathered for a short pre-ride.  We drove out to the first of three dirt sections and rode both the first and infamous 1.5 mile hill.  It was great to get out of the car and onto the bike!  Nerves subsided after seeing the great condition of the gravel roads (remember this is all relative!).  In the past the sections of gravel/dirt roads have been treacherous, but thanks to a little Louisiana downpour two days prior, the gravel and dirt were well packed for our steady 23-25 mph pace.

After the 1.5 hour roll around the course, we drove back to the hotel to enjoy a “boot camp” style shower to make our dinner reservations on time.  The reservation for 30 at the Cypress Grill was a sight to behold.  Team Jeep dominated the restaurant and definitely overwhelmed the kitchen!!  We enjoyed some excellent Cajun blues music and a special meal of pasta prepared just for us, thanks to Don.  The food was great and company unparalleled.  With full bellies (especially Ty after polishing off two plates of food!) and calmed nerves (then again, I may have been the only nervous one….), Team Jeep headed back to the hotel for a full night of sleep before the big day. Team Jeep/CJB Construction Has Successful Rouge Roubaix 2008

March 31st, 2008

Rouge Roubaix was Team Jeep/CJB Construction’s first major targeted race for the 2008 season. This years Rouge Roubaix was epic with excellent course conditions on the dirt sections and…although a brisk 34F in morning…very favorable race weather. Raising Canes Racing Team put on a stellar race and we thank them for all of their hard work, cool race swag and the generous payouts to all the race categories. Great Job!!

Team Jeep/CJB Construction had a great Rouge performance with solid results from our team in both the A & B race categories. Our B race category team had a stellar performance with Destry LeBrun taking 1st place, Melissa Coomes 1st place Women’s and 3rd overall, Rachel Massey 2nd place Women’s and 10th overall, John Brizzard our junior rider taking 7th overall, and Ty Turbyfill with 12th!

Our A Team had a strong showing with both Donal Davis placing 7th and Cal Partlow taking 11th in Masters 35+ Category.

 2008 Rouge Roubaix Results

We look forward to racing Rouge Roubaix next year and are anticipating many more great results throughout the 2008 season!

 Have Fun Out There!
